Pottery Barn (of all people) has an interesting version of the stainless steel and glass Ralph Lauren sawhorse desk I’ve been watching all this time. The Ava desk has a trestle construction rather than a sawhorse, but it has similar lines and aesthetic with a much smaller price tag: just $699.
It is made of cast iron with a polished brushed nickel finish. It doesn’t have the glamour that the Ralph Lauren desk has, but would stand in nicely for a less glamourous budget.
Is this modern? In the right environment, yes? I’m not sure.
Herman Miller is on sale at DWR including quite a few official licensed Charles Eames pieces.

The white Eiffel Chair was one of the inspirations for my tiny desk area (it can’t be called much else than an area… maybe a niche? but I digress). It is currently on sale for only $179.10.

I bought my poor-man’s version, the Snille white desk chair, at Ikea for $19.99. If I squint until it hurts and make my eyes go cockeyed it morphs into a Charles Eames. It is a surprisingly adorable and comfortable little chair for twenty bucks.

Ok, I don’t need one, I don’t have room for one, and I most certainly can’t afford *this* one (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price: a mere $15,800), but I can’t stop oggling this Ralph Lauren version of the Sawhorse desk. Polished stainless steel sawhorse legs. Are you kidding me?? Mmm, I really am a sucker for Shiny Objects.
