Hurricane Poster Project

Hurricane Poster Project - Laurie DeMartino

Limited edition screenprint by Laurie DeMartino

The Hurricane Poster Project is a collaborative effort from the design community to raise money for the victims of hurricane Katrina. The site is currently featuring 142 (and seeking more) limited edition sets of hurricane-related posters from high-profile and up-and-coming artists, designers, and firms from the United States and abroad. The donated posters will be sold online, and all profits will go directly to the Red Cross.

Polish Poster Gallery

Wiktor Gorka Crrk

One of my favorite art sources, the Polish Poster Gallery, features vintage and contemporary, original posters designed for movie, theater and music events. The list of artists includes the most famous graphic designers: Cieslewicz, Czerniawski, Stasys, Gorowski, Klimowski, Lenica, Mlodozeniec, Olbinski, Pagowski, Rosocha, Sadowski, Sawka, Starowieyski, Swierzy, Tomaszewski, Urbaniec, Walkuski and others.

Pictured here is one of a series of circus posters designed by Wiktor Gorka, a Polish artist whose body of work spans theatre, movies, advertising and propaganda. Highly recommended.
