How To Learn About Design?

Despite my lengthy absense from theis blog (new job, etc), I have been continually stuffing myself full of learning about design. I think I’m actually starting to feel a bit comfortable in this world, which is saying a lot considering how daunting it was when I began. Some of the resources I have been using are:

Periodicals (I buy these every month now. I should get subscriptions, shouldn’t I? Just go a head and commit to them, since I haven’t missed an issue of any of them all year. *sigh* Hmm.) While most of them bridge both modern and traditional decor worlds, I find that now, I get irritated and skip past those cluttered, fussy pages filled with nice antiques and beeline for the stark, clean beauty of the modern lofts and spacious . Who am I and what have I done with the real me??

-Dwell
-Metropolitan Home
-Elle Decor
-Architectual Digest

I havne’t yet gone whole hog and headed into Wallpaper or Modernism but I do eyeball them fervidly.

Recent Book Purchases:
Lofts 2
Apartment Therapy

Websites:
Architonic

Well, I know, not a total immersion (more of a kiddie pool wade), but I am learning quite a bit and can identify most of the iconic pieces by designer now. It’s a process, you know?
